Information about the Pasaeli winery and the brand

Seyit Karazoglu is the man behind the famous Pasaeli wine brand. The Pasaeli wine is steadily gaining popularity in different regions due to its fine taste and the perfect blend of its aromas.

Seyit Karazoglu, who was instrumental in building the brand, imported some of the best wines from all over the world to Turkey as early as 1993 before developing his own wine brand in 2000.

In a recent interview, Seyit Karazoglu recalled how he had his first experience with wine, a French musigny. At that time he went to dinner with his father, which left him amazed and in awe of the quality of the wine, and this evening culminated in the pursuit of his dream of simply making good wines.

Ultimately, that dream led him to the University of Pepperdine. He spent the next few years traveling the world learning about winemaking and educating himself at a very high level in viticulture. While studying the markets abroad, he recognized the excellent soils that Turkey has as the fifth largest grape-growing country in the world.

So, with meticulous planning and gradual improvement, he developed Pasaeli in 2000 to create some of the best Turkish wines that can compete with their European and American counterparts.

Seyit Karazoglu also brought Andrea Paoletti, a renowned winemaker from Italy, on board. Together they both started planting their vineyard near Izmir and have successfully recreated some of the finest cuvees such as Merlot, Cabernot Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and many others.
