Pamukkale Anfora Ökuzgözü
This wine is made from Öküzgözü and Shiraz grapes from the southern Denizli district. The Güney Plateau, at an altitude of 850 meters above sea level, is the best area in the Denizli region for growing grapes. The wines are lush, intense and powerful, characterized by dense aromas such as sour cherries, blackberries and mulberries and very expressive. But they are not melancholy victims of gravity, but living, highly vital plants. The Pamukkale Anfora Öküzgözü is one of the absolute top products of the Anfora series, an incredibly deep wine, matured in barriques, of great power and charisma. Cherry, strawberry, sandalwood and juniper scents can be felt in the nose. On the palate it is a fresh, lively, structured and long-lasting wine. The wine should be aerated before drinking and is well suited for long storage.
Pamukkale Weine is a family business founded by Fevzi Tokat in 1962. Fevzi Tokat started with a relatively small production volume of 100.000 liters. Pamukkale has since become one of the largest wineries in Turkey. The winery, which is now managed by his brother Yasin Tokat, produces 3,5 million liters of wine every year. The main goal is to offer wine lovers the best quality wine at the best prices.
Pamukkale also works with contract growers for many of its grapes. Instead of growing all the grapes in the local vineyards themselves, the winery prefers to work with trustworthy farmers who produce the grapes in the best areas suitable for the respective crop. As such, Pamukkale sources grapes from all over Turkey, from Tekirdağ to Diyarbakir.
