Arak al Mimas
Arak is the Persian variant of the Turkish raki, a clear aniseed schnapps made from grapes. It is said that the name raki comes from the word arak (translated sweat - representing the drops that trickle down from the alembic).
The arak is generally not sweetened and the alcohol content is usually between 50 and 60% vol., So much stronger than the Turkish raki. The arak is mostly made from local grape varieties.
