On this page we offer you wines from the Sevilen winery, such as Majestik, Parsel, Plato or Isabey.
After discovering vineyards and viticulture in France, Isa Güner, a first generation immigrant from Bulgaria, founded his own winery in Izmir. Knowing that there was excellent natural potential for wine production in Turkey, the winery, consisting of 160 hectares of vineyards and a first-class restaurant called Isabey, is now run by the third generation of the Güner family.
Sevilen produces grapes in two locations, namely the Aegean Sea, around Izmir, with a warm Mediterranean climate, and the Anatolian plateau, with a cool Mediterranean climate.
In Izmir, at about 150 meters above sea level, the climatic conditions are very similar to those of Bari or Athens. In the Anatolian plateau, at an altitude of 900 meters, the climatic conditions are similar to those in the Rhone Valley, from which excellent French wines come, but it is far drier there in summer.
In both layers, the soils are unique with their complex distribution, an alternation of chalk and slate (heavy clay) and the occurrence of limestone. This diversity of soil and climate enables the production of very high quality white and red wines that always have a unique expression. Various medals at international competitions (Decanter World Wine Awards, Awc Vienna Wine Awards) reflect this quality.
